Four Day Weekend in Austin, TX for MLK Weekend 2014

Jump to last reply

I'll be going to Austin (for the first time) with a few girlfriends in January 2014 for a long week. I wanted to see what sort of "must do" recommendations people had while we're there!

We're all in our late 20s, young professionals who love to dance, shop, eat well, and explore the great outdoors. While Austin is a bit off the beaten path from a traditional Texas experience, we thought it'd be a nice segue from our East Coast lives.

Is there anything in particular that occurs in January down there? Any bars or shops worthy of visiting? Any sights worthy of seeing? And most importantly, any places to buy cowboy boots and eat BBQ? Thanks!
