We are flying into Fort Lauderdale October 31 and are looking for an inexpensive place to spend the night before heading to the Keys the next day. We would like to visit the Seminole Hard Rock Casino that night, but don't plan to stay at the hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions for a neat place in the area to spend the night for under $90?
We get bored with chain hotels, so something different would be awesome.,
Thanks!

Not much in the area other than chains. Within 5 miles of the casino my picks would be the Hyatt Place, The Best Western Plus or the Homewood Suites, all in Dania.
Hyatt Place is very nice, if that is an option.
Thanks,m clarkgriswold and simipson510. Is Dania the same as Dania Beach? I saw there is a cool old wooden roller coaster there...
Hi there, like the other two responses, Hyatt place is a good spot to spend the night, as far as the wooden roller coaster, it was shut couple months ago due to its high cost of maintenance.
We enjoyed the Riverside hotel very much.
The Riverside in downtown FTL is nice but I doubt you'll get it in your price range.
Thanks-- too bad about the coaster. Looks like the Best Western is the only one in that price range. I liked the look of Riverside for sure but this is just one night and we will be leaving so early the next day it's not worth paying much. I would love to get a sweet deal on that one!
We might also consider a Priceline bid.
Here's another question: We have three nights after we come back from the Keys to explore the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
We have never been and want to take in the Art Deco South Beach scene, maybe Little Havana too as well as see more of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Beach. Any suggestions on how to divide up the time and what areas to stay? Don't know if there will be time to get a taste of the Everglades, but that would be neat, too.
