Fort Lauderdale Restaurant Recommendations?

I'll be in Ft. Lauderdale the first week in March. Any recommendations for great (but not too expensive) restaurants? Something romantic, perhaps?

We try to eat there whenever we are in Fort Lauderdale.

It is expensive but one of the best restaurants in Florida: Cafe Martorano. You've never had Italian this good or a better meatball in your life.

Also:

Jackson's Steakhouse
Marks
Big City Tavern (favorite place to sit outside on Las Olas and people watch)
Samba Room
Tavern Opa
Nikki Marina
Mancini's

My all time favorite for breakfast is: The Floridian on Las Olas.

Oops!

I forgot Aruba's (on the beach and touristy but great food) and Charley's Crab (on the waterway but outstanding).

Don't miss the flea market.

GoTravel, which flea market are you referring to? We visit FLL frequently (family in Tamarac) and I am curious. Hope it isn't the Festival on Sample Rd which has REALLY gone downhill IMHO.

Yes, the Festival. I loved it! Bought a lot of fun stuff and some great jewelry.

Don't want to hijack this thread, BUT, the Festival has really come downhill in the last 10-15 years. Guess I was used to real bargains. The Food Court really has downgraded as well. We had lunch there in Dec 2007 at the Jewish deli and the knish was doughy and cold and the matzo ball soup tasted like golf balls! The same OPI nail polish I buy in Ohio for $6-7 bottle was close to $10 and the cosmetics store manager was ready to shoot me when I commented on how Publix had less expensive prices on certain beauty brands. Won't be wasting my time there again! OTOH, found Sawgrass Mills to have some serious bargains in many stores.

I can see how it would become boring after a visit or two but it was my first and I had a great time!

We love it and go every time we're in FL after we take the sunset inland waterway cruise.

In Dania, if it's still there, there is a wonderful English Pub Restaurant called King's Head Pub. Delicious! Right across from Dania Jai-alai.

In Fort Lauderdale, if you drive west, near the Broward mall, there is a nice (not too expensive) Italian place called Il Mulino's.

For good, cheap Cuban/Mexican food, try Las Vegas, near I-595 and 441.

Would also recommend River House in downtown FLL. Near the Theater of Performing Arts and a nice IMAX theater.

Those who recommended Riverhouse. I agree.

Our son got married there in an outdoor ceremony in the gazebo next to the restaurant at the end of March a few years ago.
