fort lauderdale area beach hotel 03/29-04/02
I would like to go with my family to Fort Lauderdale for a week (03/29-04/02) and stay at a nice hotel on beach or at least with easy walking access to beach. Through Priceline, what kind of hotel can I find in $80-120 range? Marriot?

dw2 -- Your price range might be too low for Fort Lauderdale in March/April. This is the height of peak season and hotels can almost name their own prices. You probably won't get on the beach for less than $150, if at all, through PCLN. I saw your post on Bidding for Travel.
If you only need one room and the types of beds doesn't matter (2 dbls, 1 queen or 1 king) then I'd suggest using Priceline. If you bid Ft Lauderdale Beach 4 Star, you might be able to get the Hyatt Pier 66 for between $80 & $120 per night. Pier 66 is a very nice hotel not far from the beach and you can get to the beach by using the Water Taxi. The hotel might even have a shuttle, you should check their website. You can also try 4 Star Downtown, this could get you the Renaissance which is within walking distance of picking up the Water Taxi.
Is Fort Lauderdale your only choice? Have you considered Pompano Beach or Hollywood Beach? They don't have Water Taxi's so you need to either be near the action or rent a car.

Loved Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. Last year we got a great rate on priceline for this resort- $105.00 a night. Beautiful hotel with nice grounds. I definitely recommend it. The only negative is the parking. Cost $16.00 a day.

I'm interested in the water taxi. Can someone tell me the northernmost and southernmost points that the taxi services? We're thinking of staying in LBTS at the Captain's Quarters. We will have a vehicle, but would certainly use the water taxi as often as possible. We'd like to spend some time in Fort Lauderdale and the Miami area, while staying at the Captain's Quarters.

This has all the Water Taxi info you could need. If you have a look at "Map and Schedule" you will see how far it goes in each direction with attractions marked too.

Go Travel--I chose Captain's Quarters, based on advice from you and Heartburn. I am new to this forum and have enjoyed reading everyone's comments about the area! Thank you! Our family of 4 (boys ages 13 and 11) will be traveling from Illinois to Florida in late June. So far we're spending two nights at the new Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort in Cape Canaveral and three nights in LBTS. Haven't made definite plans yet, but want to spend two or three nights in the Keys. Can't wait--June seems so far away and I haven't had my beach fix since August.
