Trip Ideas
I just checked out the Chicago one - these look like nice summaries! Thanks for sharing, Katie!
Cool - thanks, Katie!
I love to have a map with me! Printed Las Vegas to see the newer hotels - very nice map of the strip, and probably it's all I need if I go there.
I like the focus on downtown L.A. It's often skipped by tourists who are overwhelmed by the area's geography.
I probably would choose different "Don't Miss" sights, but that's me. I definitely wouldn't use the outline of a surfer as a symbol of downtown L.A. That poor surfer is 15 miles from the nearest wave.
The map might be more helpful if the one-way streets were noted.
Congrats! Katie!
Very nice idea!
Hope you'll do more "mini-guides" like these!
Topping for the Friday crowd. Thanks for both your comments and feedback. I will pass it on.

Happy Friday
Thanks for posting. Good idea, Katie. Maybe do a series of them on ski resorts/towns?
i'm native philadelphian --the map is great--the few shops you included are very random (viv pickle handbags??) I would not include a CD music store and leave out the National Constitution Center
Hi Katie - one thought about the Boston mini-guide... I've lived in Boston for 10+ years, and honestly, NEVER EVER used the Blue Line Bowdoin T station. My preference would be Park Street Station which is served by both the Green and the Red Lines - and when you exit the station, you're right in Boston Common. And if one wants to use the Blue Line, I think State station is a better choice.
Very nice!

I have a friend who loves to hop on a plane to "wherever the weekend specials are." Once he makes the initial rounds, he inevitably phones me, asking what else there is to do.
Today is one of those cases. He's flying into NYC, so I've sent him your new handy guide.
Good job!
Glad you like them swisshiker---if given the challenge to pick one of them and go today I'd probably head to Chicago or Boston, two places that I've inexplicably never been. Hope your friend enjoys his trip!
Yk-- I'll pass on your comment about the stations to the Boston editor--good to know another local's perspective.
These are great! Thanks, Katie.
Thanks Katie,
Looks good! I'll print the NYC guide for an upcoming trip as we'll be staying in the Downtown area. The map will be perfect for my daughter to use to find her way around with us. She's a Starbucks frappuccino fan so she'll appreciate your sponsor's little green discs.
Katie--
The real problem with the Bowdoin station in Boston is that it is open only M-F, 5:15 am - 6:30 pm (closed weekends and holidays). I'd say it's a better Blue Line choice if you are interested in Beacon Hill, but State might be better for going to the Common. Note also that State is wheelchair accessible only on the outbound side (i.e., going away from Bowdoin/toward Wonderland) at this time.
The same is true with the Red Line stations regarding best station choice: Park Street is better for the Common, but Charles/MGH is better for the western half of Beacon Hill - and, for that matter, Arlington (Green Line) is better for the Public Garden.
Fabulous!
The only cities I have not visited in depth on this list, is L.A. & Philadelphia. And I may go to L.A. next summer- so I'm printing it out now.
THANK YOU, Katie!
