Fodor foodie looking for a restaurant

Now that's funny. When I read this question I was thinking... geez I hope Bobmrg will show up... he's our only hope -haha!
Sorry lmadsen but Renton isn't exactly an area known for hip or happening "foodie" places.
Would you be willing to come up into the city (Seattle proper)?

Drive up to Seattle by Safeco Field and go to Salumi, its a whole in the wall place with most likely a line outside. It's OUTSTANDING! http://www.salumicuredmeats.com/

There are many great places to dine in not only Seattle, but on the east side in Bellevue, and nowadays, in Tacoma?
Can't remember the name but one out beyond Ballard - beyond the locks - has a great ocean view and they will even give you blankets if you have a drink overlooking the ocean.
The Sturgeon there was excellent.
You might also consider taking a fun ferry ride over to Victoria, on Vancouver Island - and check out High Tea, if not at the more expensive the Empress Hotel is it?, then at one of the other places.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, dining in Renton...
There is nothing but a void there.
Renton can still boast one of the few "Carl's Jr." locations around, but even those are popping-up in more area spots these days.
I'd hate to think that was tops in terms of Renton eateries...
LOL

Actually, I drive to Renton from Seattle/Bellevue for Dog and Pony...admittedly for the beer though (which is fantastic). Their pub grub is okay - mostly fried - but it would be my destination of choice for Renton.
