I've flown open jaw several times (USAirways) and did not have to "pay" additional points...which program are you specifically talking about?

It should be no problem--just choose Sky Miles Award travel and then choose the Multi-City option.

With United's Mileage Plus, you can't book open-jaw award travel on-line, but you can do it on the phone with a representative. Good luck.

We've never had to pay a fee for open jaw with points. Since points are usually based upon places in the same continent, shouldn't be anything special in the calculation.

I have done it twice - once with US Air and once with Delta. Both times I had to call as I was trying to use them on codeshares. It was a $10 fee for the phone and $10 fee for multi-city.

hi joebear,

we have continental miles and using our miles for our upcoming wyoing/south dakota trip. we're flying open jaw to idaho then flying back from south dakota. there was no extra fee - all we had to do was set it up as multi city. we could've done it online but called instead.

good luck!

GOod news! I was able to get it worked out using points for all five tickets and flying open jaw. I did have to call delta agent but he was extremely nice and it worked out that we can all fly for just $124 a piece.
