We will be in Orlando March 13-20 and are planning a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center. We were planning to do a half day there and a half day at the beach. We prefer a more pristine place. Wildlife would be great. We will have a 41/2 year old with us, so it needs to be safe. Any suggestions? Are we planning to much for one day? We will probably go out for dinner. What's the best seafood restraunt? I appreciate any suggestions.

The best seafood restaurant is Dixie Crossroads in Titusville - it seats 500+ but you will have at least an hour wait on the weekends. It is worth it. Their specialty is rock shrimp and any other kind of shrimp. Cape Canaveral Wildlife refuge covers a very large portion of the Space Center. They have a self drive tour which has many places you can stop and take a hike. If you look you are sure to see alligators and many different species of birds. In Volusia county, there is an Eco tour of the St. John's river which leaves Hontoon Island Marina just outside of DeLand but that is a ways from the Space Center. We do an annual canoe trip down the very beautiful Weikiva River from Katies Canoe Livery in Sanford which is about 12 miles north of Orlando.
Thank you for the info,Mike. I am sure we will have a great day. If you like to canoe(and rough it) you should consider taking a wilderness canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota(BWCA). It is a great vacation. Thanks again for you help.
