Florida Panhandle Q - Shell Island?

Jump to last reply

We are in the Panhandle now, staying at Watercolor. Have read about Shell Island at St. Andrews State Park, but wonder if it's worthwhile for us. Positive reviews on TripAdvisor, though many talk about the pristine beach and lack of development like PCB -- we already are on a beautiful beach w/o high-rises, etc. Would Shell Island be different than where we are now? There are no shells here and shells would be nice, but some of the TA reviews talk about not even seeing shells on Shell Island.

We drove through PCB today and are not particularly interested in making that trip again unless Shell Island is a "must-do" in terms of a great beach experience that's different from what we're already doing. This is my go-to site for spot-on travel advice. If anyone has experiences, thoughts and/or suggestions to share, we'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.
