Florida East Coast

Hi All, before we spend 15 nights in Orlando (Davenport) in a lovely villa, we have decided to take a trip for 6 days to parts of the state we haven't seen yet.
We are not beach people, so looking for good towns and cities for shopping, nice sights and nice restaurants.

We are thinking about going down the east coast and spending 3 or 4 nights there, and then 2 in Clearwater area.
So, my question is... what 2 different towns / cities do you recommend on the east coast, that have much to see and do?

Your help would be very much appreciated. Regards

John
