flagstaff

We will be visiting Sedona for three nights driving from Las Vegas. I am planning to go to Flagstaff from there for 2 nights, but I really haven't found a lot to do there. Any suggestions? We are not hikers or river rafters!! We do , though, lovely drives, museums, and enjoying the scenery!!
Any restaurant suggestions?
Thanks,
Alison

I had an extended stay in Flagstaff with a friend and enjoyed it very much. As a university town it's more diverse and interesting, I think, than it's size might suggest. Some highlights:

Museum of Northern Arizona: https://musnaz.org/

Riordan Mansion: http://www.arizonahistoricalsociety....ordan-mansion/

My friend's favorite restaurant, Josephine's: http://www.josephinesrestaurant.com/

I'm not a beer drinker but, if you are, Flagstaff is big with craft beer enthusiasts, possibilities all over town:

More possibilities, including a list of restaurants: http://www.flagstaff.com/

My favorite thing was just to walk around the town, very entertaining in itself, art galleries, shops catering for outdoor activities, a park & city hall/great library in the center of town.

Sunset Crater / Wupatki National Monument
Walnut Canyon
Meteor Crater
Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Monument
Winslow -- Standing on a Corner Park, La Posada Hotel

In Flagstaff, we always go to Black Bart's for pretty good food and a fun time.

There is shuttle bus service from Flagstaff to the south Rim of the Grand Canyon (via Williams).
You could fly to Albuquerque and rent the car there to go to Flagstaff and all of the stuff mentioned including Sedona.

I meant to mention, with only 2 nights in Flag you'll have just 1 full day (and bits of those on either side), so you'll have no trouble whatever filling that day in town. I'm certain you'll enjoy yourselves there, as I did in the months I called it home.

If you like Italian Food, I recommend Fat Olives on Rt. 66 on the eastern edge of Flagstaff.
