fishing, ouachita & dardenelle

i am new in the area and my son is with me for the summer. he is a big fisherman and i am looking for guidance on where to take him fishing around for smith. i heard lake ouachita and dardenelle are very good. i do not have a boat so we have to rent one. i appreciate any help.
