Fishing in New Orleans?

Hi, I'm taking my DH to NOLA next weekend to celebrate his 50th birthday. We're revisiting after an anniversary trip 10 years ago. He LOVES to fish, and it would make his weekend to spend half a day on a guided trip to catch redfish and such. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good, reliable fishing outfit? The fishing part of the trip will be a surprise, and I want it to be really special. Thanks in advance!

Venice, LA is the place to go but it's 100 miles S of NOLA and about 2 hours by car. Google Venice, LA deep sea fishing and you will get a lot of good results. Good luck.

I am shooting for an early morning trip, so it can't be very far from NOLA. Is there anything closer in? For some reason, I was thinking there was some shallow water/marsh fishing within 20-30 miles. Am I dreaming?

Thanks, Littleman! This was exactly what I was looking for. Called and they had an open spot, so we're going with them. I'll post a report on our trip when we get back.

I've heard good things about New Orleans Style Fishing Chartes and Rojas Fishing Charters, too. I think they're both about 30 minutes from downtown? Please report back about your experience with CC Fishing Charters! Curious...
