first time in Arizona planning a honeymoon
Arizona sounds great with so much to se and do. We are planning a honeymoon in late Sept of this year. What kind of temp sould I expect in Sept? Where should I stay that might be central? I would like to see the Grand Canyon,Sedona, Tucson,Zion and Bryce. Not sure where to start. Thanks for your help.

Coming up on our 10th ann!!! Honeymooned in Arizona because we wanted to see a piece of our country. We did 2 nights in Scottsdale, 2 nights in Sedona, 4 nights at Grand Canyon and then 2 nights in Vegas. don't stay central, just keep moving. Scottsdale is wonderful to relax, hang by the pool and explore...there are fantastic rates to be found as I remember...goodluck with that......Sedona was remarkable as was "Jtown" cant remember the name but upcountry and a great drive to get you to the canyon....Grand Canyon...our first night was top shelf at El Tovar, in a special suite that has a veranda about the size of the room....worth every penny!!! we had room service the whole stay and awoke to the glory of the grand canyon........then we downgraded to more affordable lodging the other three nights,,,if you can get that special room at the El Tovar, it was worth every penny and the only luxury you'll find at the canyon.GL

We went all over the place. A long trek to see the painted desert. Too long of a trek to see "meteor something" which is way off the highway and only worth the time if you'r into that thing....we did a day raft trip...again this is 10 years ago...from the gr cany bus ride to Glen Canyon...it was fabulous, and beautiful...especially at the end when you see to rivers meet....the green water from Glen canyon running beside the red water of the Colorado??? It really is cool. One last note...when we arrived at Sedona they said their would be no great sunset, but we made our way to the little chaple and got award winning photos that night...again good luck

DH & I went to the Grand Canyon for our Honeymoon 29 years ago. It was the start of our love of travel and road trips.
I would suggest staying at a few different locations. I would start in Tucson and work my way north.
You might want to spend some time at Glen Canyon National Recreational Area on the Arizona-Utah border. You will pass right by it on your way from the Grand Canyon to Bryce and Zion. Lake Powell is so beautiful with the contrast of deep blue water and red canyon walls. The day boat tour trip to Rainbow Bridge National Monument is a wonderful experience.

Sue,
I have lived in Tucson for 45 years and I can tell you right now it is going to be HOT when you get here. Late Sept. will be better than early. In early sept. it will be over 100 degrees in phoenix and Tucson. Phoenix is a little hotter. Sedona and G.C. are at higher elevations and are cooler. If you are coming early get a place with a pool in Tucson.
