Finding the right moving company. (Calgary to Seattle!)

Hello everyone!

My wife recently received a job offer close to downtown Seattle. We currently live in Calgary, Alberta in Canada and our considering the option of moving. First and foremost, we need suggestions on what would be some good areas to live (just us two) with a commute no longer than 1 hour to downtown. Another issue is finding a moving company. The local Calgary mover here is Matco (matco.ca) which I will get a general quote on but I would consider hiring an American mover as well if the price were right. Any recommendations on that end?

Thanks

Do you have kids?

Just had family move to Stanwood and they like it alot. Good schools if that matters.

Why do you want to live 1 hour away?

Why not pick one of the Seattle neighborhoods & have a really short commute?

like Queen Anne, Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, Ravenna, Maple Leaf, Capitol Hill, Central District all are nice areas to live and very convenient

Traffic is horrible here. It's the one thing I don't care for about Seattle. If you pick a place that on a GOOD day is a 1 hour commute... it could take you 2-3 hours to get home when things go bad on the various freeways!

Even a 20 min. commute could turn INTO 1 hour on a bad day.
