Finalizing Oahu Kauai Molokai Dec 07 plans-need help w/accomodations!!
We are finalizing our plans for our trip to Hawaii in December, and I need help deciding on accomodations before everything is booked! We're considering the Equus in Waikiki because we're only there for 3 nights. Has anyone stayed here before? It has good reviews on TripAdvisor and is cheap.
My real dilemma is with Kauai!!! We had the perfect place picked out on the west side, but now I'm afraid we'd be doing too much driving to the north, east and south sides to see those attractions. Now we're considering the east side, but we would prefer something quiet (i.e. we don't want to have to listen to noisy kids). We'd rather not stay in a huge condo complex, but we'd like to be close to the water (the dilemma). We're going in December. Any advice?? Our max per night is $150 and we're staying for 6 nights. We'd rather not split our stay between two places either.

Britomart, I noticed your post doesn't seem to be linked to the Hawai'i search--you may get more replies if you repost and put it in that search.
On Kaua'i, if you want to see the whole island without changing your lodging, I do think the east side is the best base. Are you looking for a smaller hotel, or a cottage? Exactly when are you going? If in early December, you will probably have more luck finding something under $150.

Thanks trippinkpj.
Britomart, I would not choose that hotel location because I'd rather be in the heart of central Waikiki (while that hotel is out by the mall, not walking distance to everything like I prefer).
