Fenway/ WaterFire Weekend Report

Jsut came back from a wonderful weeknd getaway. Through work, we had received excellent tickets to a game at Fenway so we drove up to Boston from the NY area Sat morning. The weather was gorgeous and our seats were practically right on the field. A great afternoon. Then hopped in the car and headed back toward Providence. I had heard there was a waterfire there that night... wasn't really sure what that was, but it sounded interesting so we stopped to check it out. It was amazing! This is something really unique that I've never experienced in any other city. It's an art installation of fire on the river, with beautiful music playing in the background. Lots of fun stuff to do nearby as well. It was fun, classy, festive, and artistic all at the same time. It's also free. They run waterfires about 10 times a year in Providence. If you have the opportunity to go to one, do it!

My brother lives outside of Providence so I had booked a room on Priceline. I was really proud of myself for getting a $35 deal. The location worked for us (near my brother's) though outside the city and certainly not the fanciest place I ever stayed. A great deal for our situation, though. Then met up with my bro and went to the quaint village of Wickford for brunch. Had a nice casual meal on a porch overlooking the water, then walked around some. Spent the afternoon hanging out with my brother, then back in the car for a prety easy Sunday drive home. A great weekend!
