Feb(end) or Mar vacation U.S.

Suggestions on where to go in the 48 states the end of Feb or March 2006. We don't want to go to Florida or Nevada- been there too many times. We are in NY so we would like sun/warm weather - 75+ degrees. No children,we like big/small cities, beaches/water,entertainment,state parks, shopping, etc..

Arizona, New Mexico, California, or Hawaii.

There are 50 states now, not 48.

That time of year has been outstanding in N.Mexico every time I went. Also that is the time of year that we love to do drive vacations straight south.

You will have limited choices if you want at least 75 degrees. My friends from Chicago often go to San Padre Island / Texas coast, but you will also be up against the Spring Breakers.

Mexico or Carribbean would have warmer temps, but I was there last Feb. and still had it in the 60s most of the time. You can't always guarantee very hot weather in late Feb. or March.

Leslie, I'm quite sure the OP knows there are 50 states. Seems like he/she is looking for suggestions in the continental U.S. and assumed we'd all be intelligent enough to figure that out.

As for the OP's question, you'll possibly run into spring break crowds in March just about anywhere there is warm weather and beaches. If water is a must, the choices are pretty obvious (CA or S. TX). Otherwise, Phoenix and Tucson are options, although as JJ5 has said, you're really not guaranteed 75+ temps anywhere at that time of year (at least not in the U.S.).

Travelsandy - not sure if you are still looking but weather.com has a vacation planner where you can put in the avg. temperature you want, month & part of the world & it lists destinations that fit your criterea. Kind of neat, maybe give you some different ideas.

That's the best time of the year in Phoenix and Scottsdale. Perfect weather, stunning sights, great shopping and food, it's all happening.
Spring training baseball is an added bonus for me.
