Favorite place in Hawaii?

Need to preface this. I am looking for a nice hotel 100-150 a night. Can walk to town for food, etc. Want a good, safe snorkeling beach. Fun places to walk around. On top of that give me your best and hotel choice. Thank you.

I love the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua Maui, the Hyatt in Waikiki, Kahala Mandarin in Honolulu.

If you want to walk to resturants and snorkeling then try either Kihei or Kaanapali. There is only one hotel in Kihei but lots of condos. Check out a guide like Frommer, Fodors or Maui revealed. I really like Kamaole Sands in Kihei. The Mahina Surf is the best - only 56 units - right on the water, but you can't walk to eat or snorkel. Single condo units are about 125 per night there with a full kitchen.

I've only been to Hawaii once on a recent family reunion trip. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the town of Lahaina on Maui.

Rusty,
>> The third stool from the left at the Hula Bar on Kaanapali Beach, Maui !!<

If it's the side of the bar with your back to the ocean, I had that very seat this past Wednesday!!!! It is a great place to hang out and people watch.

Not everyone can qualify, but if you can qualify to stay at the Hale Koa, by being a reservist, retiree, or DOD employee, the Hale Koa is a great, affordable place to stay based on rank. Another favorite place for us is the Kilauea Military Lodge in Volcano National Park. Through out the islands there are plenty of military rates. We will be staying at the Hilton Waikaloa Village for $150 per night.

fjs08, The Hula Bar and Grill is truly a great place. It is good to know that someone other than myself appreciates the finer things in life (and in Hawaii)!!

I shall return!!

As always mentioned on this board, there's always Priceline. You can get a nice resort on the beach in that price range. Check out biddingfortravel.com for details on how to bid & the moderators will help you when you fill out a bid request form. P.S. Hayden is a very pretty name.

Why is there so little discussion about drinking and drinking places in Hawaii ?? I'm not talking about sipping a mai tai while watching the sunset. I am talking about SERIOUS drinking !!
