Black Sheep Bistro in Vergennes is excellent and pretty close to you in West Addison. A lot of their menu items are locally sourced. Closer to Burlington is The Bearded Frog in Shelburne which we also really like.
In Burlington itself American Flatbread is one of our faves as is The Vermont Pub and Brewery. The Farmhouse is supposed to be excellent and serves lots of local foods - we haven't tried it yet but its on our list!

Any thoughts about Tiny Thai?

We had two favorites for breakfast when in Burlington in 2009 - Penny Cluse Cafe and Skinny Pancake. There also was a great farmers market in town on Saturday.

I second the recommendation of Single Pebble.
Also, although it's not Asian, the Daily Planet is good too.

All fooling aside, if you are simply looking for a good burger and fries type of diner experience, have you heard about Al's? It's a Burlington area institution started and run by a local family. Truly a burger joint though - walk up, give your order, etc.

For Church St, always love Leunigs. Second Penny Cluse as a Burlington mainstay.

Prefer Single Pebble to Tiny Thai...both were popular when I was living in the area about 3 years ago. I haven't been to either on my return visits.

I think Single Pebble is better than Tiny Thai, but also a lot more expensive. Tiny thai has great lunch deals.

I am a fan of Penny cluse for breakfast/lunch. also Magnolia Bistro.

You might also consider going to Shelburne Farms for breakfast--a good way to see the Inn and property which are beautiful on a nice day

I thought they didn't serve food after Oct 15. Do they still do brekkie in early Nov?

jubilada--you are right about the Inn at Shelburne Farms. the season ended for the year this past weekend except for some special events like an open house tour this Sunday. When I was looking at information about meals and overnight stays there this summer I had not seen that they closed so early. The walking trails and Welcome center at the Farms are open year round and worth doing if the weather is nice when you are in VT

Three Tomatoes in Burlington is another good casual place on Church Street.
