Favorite area and hotel in Florence?
Hello,
I'm travelling there early march 2007 and would love any advice on best areas to stay. It would be great to stay somewhere less touristy and close to night nightlife.
Also best area for buying leather goods?
Thanks!

1010girlcat, Florence Kentucky is a beautiful city with lovely hotels. It will be easy to find leather goods-especially for horses. You might want to ask on their forum: http://www.city-data.com/forum/kentucky/
Happy to answer your question, now back to planning my trip to Italy on the Fodors Europe forum.

OH! Italy!! (while you will probably get more up to date info elsewhere) in 1998 I found a great leather store just across The Bridge on a street on the right called "Ponte Vecchio Leather Factory" at Borgo San Jacopo, 38/r. My daughter still loves her 3/4 length Prada leather coat; and in the US I can't afford to walk into a Prada showroom.
