Favorite Alaska Day Cruise
Hello!
Based on fodorite suggestions, we will base ourselves in Seward. There seem to be a variety of day cruises. We want to see as much as possible, so what is the best day cruise to see wildlife and glaciers? Do we need to take more than one day cruise?

My opinion, the Northwestern Fjords trip is the best. Longer= more wildlife opportunities. Alaska Heritage also runs their fastest and nicest boat on this tour.
I have gone out twice in my stays, but if you have other interests, make it a varied tour stay perhaps.

We did the Captain's Choice small boat cruise in Seward. We were worried about the weather, so we waited to make our reservations the day before. I mentioned that I was a AAA member and they gave me a discount. Most of us on board--12 of us--were interested in wildlife and there were several serious birders on board. I believe that it was through Mariah tours in the same building as the Kenai Fjords tour. I loved this tour. I also highly recommend taking something for seasickness. I wore a behind-the-ear patch and had no problems, but others weren't so lucky.
