"Farmer Boy" - Wilder Homestead - Malone NY - anyone been there?

I love the Little House series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder but really liked the story of Almanzo - "Farmer Boy"

Just found this website - http://www.almanzowilderfarm.com/

"This historic house is the only ORIGINAL house on its original site of all those written about in the Little House book series. It is the only site dedicated to and original to Almanzo Wilder. It is an important piece of northern New York history."

Has anyone here ever been before?

I have not been here, but I too am a big fan of the Little House books. I will be visiting De Smet in August to see the Little House sites there.

If you visit the Wilder Homestead, please post a trip report!

I went in June 2012 and it was wonderful. I wrote a review for my blog, and you can check it out at allthingslauraingallswilder.com

No, but one of my dream vacations is to visit all the Little House sites. I've only been to Mansfield, MO, so far.

I've never been, but I would love to see it--I hope you go and come back and tell us all about it.

I have visited the Mansfield site a couple of times and also DeSmet once and found both places delightful. I'll take a look at your blog, Marie.

We did De Smet and Walnut Grove for the Little House sites several years ago. Great fun. I just read The Wilder Life by Wendy McClure where she goes to all the Little House sites and is completely obsessed with Laura Ingalls- fun book to read and give you great information if you want to travel to all the sites as well.

I read Wendy's book too and really enjoyed it. I also got to go to an author appearance and book signing she did here--very entertaining.

I have always found it rewarding to visit a museum/home of a favorite author. How far of a drive is it for you?
