Family lake vacation

Looking for a small family type resort for a couple of days this summer with a toddler. Any suggestions?

As a Midwesterner....

I have significant experience in family lake resorts in Wisconsin. This type of thing is also big in MN and MI.

These are usually 3-8 cabin arrangements on a lake. Most include a boat but not a motor. Some have restaurants, most do not. Some have linens, some do not. Maid service is on your own. Many only rent in 1 week blocks in the busy season.

If WI is of interest start here: http://www.minocqua.org/home.asp

What are your interests and/or requirements?

Cragun's, Madden's or Grand View Lodge on Gull Lake just outside of Nisswa/Brainerd (about 90 miles from the twin cities). all have either cottages or lodge rooms, family oriented activities, dining rooms, wonderful beaches - toddler pools, etc. We've stayed at Cragun's several times while our children were younger - many fond memories of it. Nightly family entertainment as well (jugglers, hootenany, bonfire on the beach, etc.). They also have an indoor pool if the weather doesn't cooperate.
