Family hotel in NYC?
Looking for a hotel in New York that is family friendly. Between $125-$175/night. Should be near all the tourist stuff. Concerned about cleanliness and safety.
One other item. I have a teenager that might be flying back alone. I understand the new check-in procedures won't allow me to walk her up to the plane. Any suggestions?

The Radio City Apts. The decor is a bit dated, but it's safe and clean, in a good location and even has a kitchenette. As far as your 2nd question about the teen traveling alone. Call the airline. They do have special arrangements for children traveling alone.

Regarding your question about your teen flying alone, this has been our experience lately.
If she is flying as an "unaccompanied minor," then they will give you a pass to walk her to the gate and stay there until the plane has departed.
However, if she is traveling alone and you are not paying the unaccompanied minor fee, then you cannot go past security without a boarding pass for the flight.
I'm not sure if they have age limits for unaccompanied minors, but I have known teens as old as sixteen years to fly that way.
Good luck.
