Two left coasters planning our first trip to New England for this Oct. We have a guest house in Woodstock Vt. for one week and would like to use a timeshare week on the Maine coast for the 2nd week.. When is the best time for the color in Vt. ( somebody must have a crystal ball to predict that ), and has any body stayed at the Sea Mist Resort in Wells Maine, some old reports don't look to good . Thanks for your advice

Peak foliage where I live in north central VT (a little north of Montpelier) is usually the last week of September to first week in October. The color peaks later farther south. Woodstock is a good location for being able to go in either direction. You can get updates on where color is especially good from the tourist office.
