My husband has a short business trip to Winnepeg in July . We have 5-6 days to explore either Canada or parts of North Dakota (being we are flying in & out of Grand Forks). We have never been to either destination and am looking for advice on "must sees". Our interests vary from nonstrenous hikes to browsing museums and botanical gardens. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks so much. I have always appreciated the info fellow travellers share on this website ![]()

Hello! If you'll already be in Winnipeg for a meeting, I would explore that area. I reside in Fargo and neither Fargo or Grand Forks has hiking. A couple small museums, but you can find something better in Winnipeg. If you desire, you can drive to the western side of North Dakota and check out the Badlands and natural beauty, about 4 hours from Grand Forks. I would also recommend you check out Minnesota, especially Itasca State Park. That may be closer and more of what you're looking for. Beautiful wilderness, hikes, water, etc. There are cabins and nearby Bemidji is a great city to stay in too. I think Itasca is only a couple hours from Grand Forks.
