The Homewood is a good location too. Closer to restaurants. I like the location of Capitol Hill Suites, but the Homewood is fine.

Just be glad they let you know before you got to DC. Otherwise the Capitol Hill Suites would have 'walked you' and you might have ended up in a worse location.

Your options are basically 1) take the Homewood Suites, or 2) get a refund and start over again looking for a place to stay. I'd personally take the HS . . .

Homewood is fine you got a great deal would keep it but

cancel re-book elswhere is always your option

Expedia is at fault though for breach of contract

If you locked in with a CC you are due restitution

for your inconvenience since they flubbed your booking.

Talk to a supervisor.

on Otel.com Priceline.com Betterbidding.com

Odds are someone is jerking your chain at Expedia because

you got such a great price they are bumping you

for someone will to pay lots more unfair but typical

for Expedia...

I will not use expedia anymore. They have screwed me over twice on airlines when changes have been made. Once on Delta and once on United. The carrier has asked me for my reciept instead of a boarding pass, they said they can't see that it has been paid for. This has happened on flights that were originally book on one carrier and then changed to another because of a major schedule change. I find it is much easier to book with who you are dealing with and forget the middleman. It is usually the exact same price anyway.

I'd be irritated if Expedia did that to me but I probably wouldn't go to war about it unless my purpose in being in DC was located on that part of Capitol Hill.

That's a great rate for the Homewood too and I agree with MikeT about its location. Rack rates (I know, no one pays that) are 3-4 times $67. There are lots of good restaurants and a Wholefoods up 14h St and over to DuPont Circle. I stay frequently at a hotel around the corner from the HW on 16th.
