econimical / clean hotel on south florida?

Will be in south Fl in APril (SPring break). We will be visiting friends in HOmestead, but would like to stay at the beach on our way home. We are thinking the Hollywood/Lauderdale by the Sea area.
What we wantis a basic hotel/motel. We are not fancy, just want something near (or on) the beach with a pool for 1-2 nights. Is it possible to find for around $75/night? Any suggestions? Thanks!

waterfrontinns.com, or further north check out the driftwoodmotel.com..............however, $75 isn't much at spring break time.

Yes, I realize that 75 is pushing it! what I am hoping for is a small, low key motel --an undiscovered treasure, if you please....
thanks for the advice. I will check out those sites
any other suggestions?

I got a great rate on Priceline for a room in Coral Gables this year ($80 instead of $135). If you start bidding now, you'll have time to up it & adjust if your bid isn't accepted. You probably won't get a room directly on the beach, but it's possible...

Check out this site: http://www.ronnydeeresort.com/roomrates.htm
This is the Ronnie Dee motel. It is a basic place, but very clean, and across the street from Pompano Beach, which is just a few minutes drive N of LBTS. It does have a very nice, large pool.
We usually stay in LBTS, and really like that area. We were staying at the Clarion in LBTS last fall, and decided to stay on a couple of days more. Well, it was the Int'l Boat Show and so the hotel had no rooms, so we had to hunt for a room. Most of the rooms along El Mar were over $100, but one kind clerk told us to go up the road to Pompano and that's how we found the Ronnie Dee. We got extra $ off with our AAA membership.

The Mirador Motel in Hollywood Beach Florida. Mom and pop motel, clean, kitchenettes, stones throw (literally) from the beach, nice pool. Best of all, cheap.

White Cap in LBS. My family stayed here for my wedding a year and a half ago, and my cousins stayed there again when they came down. It's on the beach and there is a pool. The rooms aren't fancy, but they're clean. There is a kitchen, living area with couch and 1 bedroom. The owners are very friendly and get a lot of returning guests. They just redid the rooms a couple of years ago. I have no idea how much it costs. The hotel is 2 stories and there aren't too many rooms. I lived in the LBS area my whole life and the rest of my family still lives there (I live up the road in Boca now). Hope this helps.
