I am heading to the Pacific Northwest tomorrow and want to fine tune my list of places to eat! So far for Portland I have- Pok Pok, Tasty n' sons, LucLac Kitchen, Bollywood Theater, and Toro Bravo...for Seattle I have Walrus and the Carpenter, for Astoria I have Bowpicker ....

Will have 4 days in Portland, 2 in the Cannon Beach/Astoria area, and 3 in Seattle. I would much prefer to go based on personal recommendations rather then "best of" lists online so if you have any I'll take them!

we are adventerous eaters - one is pescetarian, one eats everything...we both love seafood! We are not super fancy eaters and are gonna be eating out a lot so would love good deal places! Favorite food trucks in Portland would be awesome as well!

We like Ethan Stowell restaurants, particularly Anchovies and Olives and Rione xiii. These are not inexpensive places, but they do offer excellent food, ambiance and service, meaning good value for what you pay. Other good values (again, not really inexpensive) are Monsoon (Bellevue and Capitol Hill), Luc (Madison Park) and Tulio (downtown, but very crowded if you go before or after a 5th Avenue Theater production.) There are a lot of good places for sushi in the Seattle area depending on your budget...we just go to our basic neighborhood place, but it happens to be high quality, long-standing and extremely popular. We also like Mediterranean Kitchen (First Hill and Bellevue, order the Farmers or Algerian chicken) and Cactus (four locations).

You will undoubtedly get more suggestions...

In Seattle we really enjoyed Serious Pie, Branzino and Canlis. The food in the Space Needle restaurant is only average, but if they are still including the elevator ride to the restaurant in the meal, we found it was worth a visit, but only on a clear day.
Only meal we had in Astoria was breakfast, but the Columbia River Coffee Roasters had a really nice spread.
In Portland, loved the Portland City Grill - go there for Happy Hour and you won't be sorry.

In Portland, we loved the Noodle House food truck at 10th and Alder. Their handmade fresh noodles were delicious.

The only place we ate at in Cannon Beach was Bill's Tavern for lunch. I had read reviews about how good their halibut fish and chips are so, although I almost never eat fried seafood, I decided to give them a try. And I was glad I did because they were so good. Perfectly breaded and not greasy at all. My daughter also enjoyed her homemade root beer there. (Be sure to get the halibut and not the cod if you do go there.)

Most of the fish is good but the clam chowder is very good IMO.

In Portland, I really enjoy Boke Bowl (which is on all the lists but for good reason), Por Que No? (crowded but cheap and delicious), and, for dessert (especially in the summer when all the fresh fruit is available), Papa Haydn. (Even though they have a full menu for lunch and dinner, you can go just for dessert at either location, and desserts are also available to go.) 3 Doors Down is always lovely and is in a great window-shopping area off Hawthorne, and Sunshine Tavern is a lot of fun on Division (right near Pok Pok) - they have a shuffleboard table and vintage Ms PacMan and Donkey Kong on free play for while you're waiting for your food.

In Cannon Beach, we've been happy with the Lumberyard, but it's nothing special, really. Just accommodating for hungry groups.

In Astoria we really like the Astoria Coffee House. Everything is tasty and it's a fun place.

If either of you are beer drinkers, Fort George Brewing in Astoria is well worth a visit.

In Cannon Beach I love Mo's, right next to the Tolovanna Inn close to Haystack rock. Also in Cannon Beach is the Driftwood Inn, Morris's, Fultanos pizza(Best in the world). In Seaside I enjoy Pig N' Pancake, bee bop burger(a little 50's hole in the wall diner).

In Astoria you have to get some fish and chips at the Bowpicker, which is a very unusual sight of a small old boat perched on a bit of a hill in the western part of Astoria's old town. It's a very tiny boat, you generally will have to stand in line and there is no place to eat inside, so find a spot out on the curb, or take them down to the docks, but the fish is very good.
