Eastern Sierra Lodging??

My husband and I and daughters 10 & 12 are traveling to Yosemite late July and want to travel out via Tioga Pass and stay in a "really great" place for 2-3 days in the Mammoth/June Lake/Bridgeport area. We like trees, beauty, creek to play in, fishing, exploring, in a beautiful setting in a rustic lodge or cabin. I would appreciate any comments on these resorts:
1. Silver Lake Resort
2. Double Eagle Resort
3. Reverse Creek Lodge
4. Virginia Lakes Resort
5. Tamarack Lodge
6. Another idea???
One can only "guess" by looking at a website. It would be so nice to hear from someone who's been there. We're more concerned about the setting, the area immediately surrounding us, than the amenities and the places to drive to. We want to have lots to do right outside our door. Any comments would be very much appreciated.
