Tavern on the Green, especially the Crystal Room or outside in the garden. The food has gotten very good and the ambience is perfect. We ate there last Easter and they even had an Easter Bunney with treats in the basket. I think you get baloons for your birthday.

Oh, you have got to try Norma's. It is located in the Le Parker Meridien Hotel on 57th. We have been there twice and it is by far the best. It is a little pricey but so worth it!

If you go for quality rather than quantity, the Sunday brunch buffet at Aquavit on 54th between 5th and 6th couldn't be beat -- both for the atmosphere and the quality of the food. But it may be a little late to snag a reservation for Easter brunch.

Three really great suggestions. I'd be careful about Tavern on the Green though in terms of making your show. It will be packed on Easter & service can be slow (try to go right at 12). Two more suggestions in case these don't work out (& I prefer the previous suggestions) are Redeye Grill at 7th & 56th or Trattoria Dell'Arte at 7th betw 56-57.

I agree with the Norma's suggestion. The dishes are beautiful, plentiful, yummy and there are alot of choices. This website gives menu, prices & reviews: http://www.parkermeridien.com/norma-s.htm. I am sure you'd need a res well in advance for Easter Sunday. It is also very close to your hotel at 57th btwn 6th & 7th Aves.

Best brunch in NY, rated yearly by Zagat, is in Cafe Botanica at the Essex House, on Central Park S, about 2 blocks from hwere you are staying.

Barry,
Tavern on the Green can be great or it can be a disaster. We were there on a Sunday when it was so crowded it felt like we were in passing cattle drives trying to get out of the place. (NOT EXAGGERATING)
Norma's has elevated breakfast to a dining experience. It's a little pricey for breakfast but who cares. What's the difference if you're paying $7 for a fresh sqeezed glass of orange juice or $9 for mediocre chardonnay. - $18 for Wahzah Waffles(highly recommended) or $25 for a mediocre entree. Live a little!
