Easter Dinner in Williamsburg, VA

Where would you recommend taking an 8 and 13 yo for a nice, special occasion type rest. for Easter dinner? I've read great things about The Fat Canary, Trellis or should we go to Christiana Campbells? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sorry about the lack of responses, Maureen. Nice restaurants in Williamsburg are The Williamsburg Inn, The Fat Canary, White Hall, Cities Grill, Blue Talon, Le Yaca. Each will give you a different experience. I don't know which are open on Easter. My teens love Le Yaca but it is very French. With your kids ages I might think of Cities Grill. It has a little more casual feel and a great "grown-up" kids menu.
Christiana's and the other taverns are fun, expensive, but not necessarily a special occasion place.
I would look at the CW website for restaurant descriptions and also the Kingsmill Resort website. Kingsmill will give you fabulous atmosphere at the Bray overlooking the James River.

Let us know if you need more detail.

HI Maureen04, Birdie listed everyone of the places I would have recommended. My favorite, however, would be Christiana Campbells or the Trellis with kids in tow. I love the Williamsburg Inn, so elegant and beautiful, but with an 8 year old and 13 year old it maybe a little too much. Not that they wouldn't enjoy it, but I would take advantage of Christiana Campbell's or Trellis. Trellis has, as tovarich said, a dessert to die for, sorry for the pun, called Death by Chocoloate. It, in itself, is an adventure. I never have been able to finish it! The atmosphere is terrific, beautiful and you would love it. Christiana Campbell's Tavern is a favorite of mine because George Washington visited there many times while he was Williamsburg. It has an atmosphere that kids would love and the food is terrific, too. It is expensive, but for a special Easter dinner it would be worth it. Enjoy!
