Does anyone know what the road is like from Cameron (no 64) to the main gate of the canyon?

Hwy 64 from Cameron to Grand Canyon Village was a good road a few years ago. I'm sure it's the same. You do climb up a grade.

It is perfectly nice - well maintained and very scenic. A bit windy in places but not enough to generate motion illness. Several places where passing slower moving vehicles is feasible. One note of caution: This is very remote country. No services or stores between Cameron and the main camp in the Grand Canyon Park.
Oh...forgot to mention, look in your rear view mirror for views of the painted desert!
