East coast vacation in February
My husband has a sales meeting in Tampa, Florida in February. He would like to tie in a vacation for the two of us, since his air fare is already covered and I have a free ticket with Southwest. I have many places I would like to visit in the east including Savannah, Charleston, or Asheville. I just don't have any real desire to go in February, when it is so much prettier (and warmer!) in spring and fall. We have already been to Florida, and don't feel any real need to go again. Can anyone suggest other places that would be nice to visit at this time of year? It can be within a days drive from Tampa. In fact, I will probably meet my husband at the end of his four day meetings and could fly into any airport that is within driving distance for him.

Unless you go south, nowhere within a day's drive of Tampa is going to be particularly warm in February. I know you said you don't want to do Florida again, but how about the Keys? Have you been there? That would be my pick in February.

It's no way to tell this far ahead, but sometimes the weather in February in Savannah is just delightful. Few azaleas will be blooming but the late camellias will still be putting on a good show.
St. Augustine might be a good choice. It would be warmer than Savannah.
