East coast this January: Boston+Philly vs. Savannah+Charleston
Hi all,
I'm currently in NYC after having been in DC. I will stay in the US until the end of January, leaving the country from DC.
Where would you suggest me to spend the period 20--29 January? Visiting Boston + Philadelphia or going South to Savannah and Charleston? Please, feel free to add other destinations in the East coast
Some info about me: I'm not looking for rest, and I like walking and history very much. Besides, I'm travelling by bus/train.
Thanks for your attention!

Hi pallino,
I agree with the others. Since you're doing the bus/train thing remember this will be a day of travel to get to Savannah or Charleston and a day of travel to get back. A week split between the two cities (Charleston-4, Savannah-3, for example) I think is ideal. Be aware that you'll need to catch a cab from the train stations to the downtown cores of Savannah and Charleston, as the train stations are several miles outside the city cores. Have fun! Daniel
Best wishes, Daniel

As a resident of Philly, I heartily recommend that you go to Charleston & Savannah at this time of the year. The cold spell that's hit this part of the country shows no signs of letting up over the next two weeks.
