Durango to Mesa Verde

We are in Durango and there was a lot of snowfall today at higher elevations....

Wondering if the drive from Durango to Mesa verde climbs or if we stay at pretty much 6500 feet through the drive....

You climb up from the highway onto the mesa, but I don't remember what the elevation is in the park.

Right now it looks like it's wet for just a bit outside of Durango, but the rest of 160 is dry.

Thanks for the link.

Now there's a wind advisory alert for the region for the afternoon. Getting stuck in Mesa Verde doesn't sound too fun with a group of 6 kids.

It there's a lot of snow, consider the sleigh ride/ dibber in a cabin north of Durango. One of my favorite travel memories ever!
