what areas of TN & KY are you planning to visit. We did Mammouth Cave in January. My boys - ages 9 & 11 are begging to go back. We also visited the Corvette Museum (plant was closed because of a holiday); Abraham Lincolns Birthplace; Louisville Slugger Museum. All great. If you will be in Louisville - don't miss the ribs at Mark's Feedstore.

I second the Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. Berea, KY is a nice place too, especially if you like arts and crafts.

In TN, go to Townsend and visit Cades Cove in Smokey Mtns National Park.

If you're driving through Kentucky on I-64, you can visit:

* Churchill Downs and the Derby Museum in Louisville;

* Wakefield-Scearce Galleries & the amazing Science Hill restaurant in Shelbyville (located in the same building as the galleries and 30 minutes east of Louisville); and,

* the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
