Driving Houston to Austin

Jump to last reply

Hi All, quite a number of you helped me with my last post on driving from Houston to San Antonio with some great suggestions for scenic and BBQ stops. Our plans are now a little different and we will be driving from Houston to Austin, stopping in Austin for 4 nights and then on to San Antonio for my work conference.

So please, it would be great to hear your suggestions on the most scenic (not necessarily the most direct) route between Houston and Austin and where we can stop for a Texas BBQ lunch along the way.

Austin tips would also be great.

We are looking forward to our first ever visit to Texas.

Thanks
