Driving from NYC to Montreal - pls recommend a place to eat in upstate NY
Hello -
We're driving from NYC to Montreal with 2 kids, and I was wondering if there is a good spot for a pit stop in upstate New York without veering too far off course (we'll be driving up route 87). I know that region is beautiful and there are plenty of good places to eat, so looking for any recommendations - scenic spots, farm stands, restaurants, etc. Thank you!

When are you passing through? Right now itt's track season in Saratoga so the town is packed, especially after the last race, right around dinner time. After labor day it quiets down a lot. There are a lot of restaurants in Saratoga. Hatties is good, but lots of other choices too depending on your appetite.
There are a lot of scenic spots along I-87. Lake George is among my favorites. If you're not looking for a long stop you could drive to the top of Prospect Mtn at Lake George for a great view.
In the village of Lake George there are a lot of kid friendly restaurants as it's a tourist town. None come to mind as noteworthy.

Thank you both for your suggestions. Passing through in a couple of days, so will try and avoid Saratoga but will definitely drive to the top of Prospect mountain, maybe for a picnic. Thank you again, and cheers!
