Drive into Philadelphia from Valley Forge

On a previous thread, in planning our PA road trip beginning 9/22, a responder said the following on route into city from VF:
"There is a really nice road tht connects between City Line Avenue and Valley Forge where there are a ton of Main Line mansions...maybe someone from Philly could help out." Can someone help with directions? Thanks!

Perhaps Route 30 (Lancaster Ave.)?

Not from Philly - but think what the responder may be referring to is to take 422 from Valley Forge to Swedesford Road, to Old Eagle School Road, to Lancaster Avenue (Route 30), to City Line Avenue. Check that route out on Google maps.

Actually, take Rt.23 from Bridgeport which is one town over from Valley Forge/King of Prussia. It goes through all the Main Line towns with the big houses and comes out on City Line Ave.

Thanks, will check those routes out. We will probably be driving into the city before 5 p.m. Notice there is an Eagles game that day. Will stadium traffic affect this route (30 or 23)?

You won't see the Mainline mansions on Rt. 30---it's more of a commercial route that goes through the center of the Mailn LIne towns.
Rt. 23 is the one that winds through the neighborhoods and will let you see the mansions.
Rt. 30 usually has a lot more traffic than 23. When the expressway is all backed up, I hop off at City Line Ave. and take Rt. 23 to King of Prussia.

For an Eagles game, traffic gets bad near the sports complex (I-95, I-76, Broad Street, Pratt River Bridge), but US 30 will be unaffected. It may still be bad, but the game itself won't lead to a problem.
