Doubletree Guest Suites in Naples, Florida - anyone been there recently? ($155 a night for Feb 12th -4 nts)

We don't seem to be able to get the Hyatt in Bonita Springs for less than $175 a night, so we're tentatively booked at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Naples. Anyone been there recently? Is this a good place to stay for 4 nights Feb 12 to have access to Naples and Sanibel? For $155, we can't find anything that looks this decent in that area...

On Trip Advisor, it get's good reviews.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

I haven't been to this particular Doubletree hotel, but every Doubletree hotel I've stayed at has been very nice and very consistant in its quality. I think it would be a good choice.

Thanks tcapp. I think I'm going to cancel our reservation we are also holding for $98 a night at the "Sanibel" Hampton Inn. It looks pretty dinky compared to the more upscale Doubletree for only $55 more a night - still under our $175 cap.

I think the Doubletrees are the nicest of the midrange hotels. In fact, I've stayed at some Doubletrees (Doubletree Charleston & Doubletree Surfcomber South Beach) that were much much nicer than upper end hotels. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

It is a nice place -- I attended a business meeting there once. You do realize, I hope that although it is on US 41, it is sort of in the middle of nowhere -- but convenient for driving to either Sanibel or Naples. There is a popular steak and salad bar place next door called The Pewter Mug, and there are some boat trips right across the road that go through some of the nature preserves. But it is definitely a "live in your car" kind of place.

Thanks Patrick and others. I think we'll definitely just stay at the Doubletree then assuming we don't do better on Priceline closer to our date.
