Debbie,
Try this site www.timesharing-today.com
There have been several people asking the same questions you have and they are getting great answers--an indoor water park???!!!Sounds good to me and we don't have grandkids to take! All you have to do is enter your name/nickname, hit enter and go the General Boards. Scroll up and you'll see the Door County posts--good luck. Don't let the timesharing aspect scare you--we do get around.
The restaurant is Al Johnson's in Sister Bay, I think. You can try the web site

Try the web site: doorcountyvacations. Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant has the goats. I think it is Sister Bay.

I have been to Door County many times and enjoy staying at private vacation rentals much more than resort areas. They are comparable in price, much more private and offer most of the same ammenities if not more. Go to www.yahoo.com and do search on "vacation rentals".
My wife and I have been to Wisconsin and Minnesota on holiday on various occasions. Our friends in England ask us why that area? But places like Door county, Northern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin are and awnser in themselves. Our favourite place in Door county is the White Gull inn in Sister Bay. Sturgeoun Bay, though the largest of the "cities" in the area is a nice spot as well. Have a great time in Wisconsin...we always do!

Check out foremostresorts.com for three great door county resorts on the water!
Also, if visiting check out the new restaurant
( DJ's on the Bay ) and the new Maritime Museum both are located on the waterfront in Sturgeon Bay.
Cave Point County Park is really pretty too. See that!
Door County is a gorgeous place to visit. Depending on how old your children our I would try to bike around Washington Island. I biked about 35 miles when I was up there and its great. Good luck and have fun!
I know this is a really old thread...
But just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that there is an article about Door County in the August 2000 issue of Country Living magazine. It's on page 63. Might have some useful info!
Bye!
Debbie,
Just returned from Door County. We stayed at the High Point Inn which was nice. Kids liked the outdoor and indoor pools. Don't miss a fish boil. The one at the White Gull Inn is nice but make reservations early. Pennisula State Park is fabulous. There are beaches, hiking trails for all levels, a bike path and much more. We drove into the park and were able to pull off the road and walk down to a stony beach. We had a large bay all to ourselves for a few hours. Wilson's restaurant in Ephraim is great for malts and burgers while Kristopher's Inn in Sister Bay was nice for a more elegant meal. The Summer Kitchen in Ephraim has great soups, salads and sandwiches. For shopping, don't miss the Blue Dolphin shop in Ephraim. Bella Cruises offers a 6 person sailboat cruise. Captain Tom was very nice. Kids and adults will enjoy the American Folklore Theater. "Lumberjacks in Love" was playing when we were there. Next year we plan to return but stay at a private house. Check out lundquistrealty.com for a listing of homes. Have fun!
