Are there any day-hikes you'll recommend in Dolly Sods with good views. (i.e., not hikes in the forest, trees, etc.). Hikes along precarious cliffs/hogs' back are even better. Thanks in advance, Mary!

Are you staying in a cabin/house in Old Timberline? There is access to Dolly Sods from Old Timberline that offers a variety of hikes with different terrain and views -- just depends on which path you take. Old Timberline is a gated community so you can't get in unless you are renting there. This is how we usually access Dolly Sods.
I have done some of the hikes from the main access to Dolly Sods but not enough to remember which are best. However, do be sure to go to the end of the road -- you will love it. If you don't get an answer here, try tripadvisor.com.
Great hiking... visit to Bear Rock was the best...
Dolly Sods is an excellent but you are in bear country. Plan accordingly and enjoy!
