I am asking this because I have read there is more fog in July and August. We are hoping to take advantage of some lodging in town, but have two dinners across the bay in Marin county that weekend. My only concern of staying in SF instead of over in Marin is the possible very heavy (?) fog we could encounter driving back to SF at night. Is this something I should be concerned about?
Does the GG Bridge frequently get severely fogged in at night in August?

Likely chance there will be fog. No need to be concerned, however. I don't remember any situation where it was so thick that I could not see the cars in front of me.

Thanks stu!
It is not a tule fog and not close to the ground. It is a marine layer that rolls in. You will be fine.
Have a great time!!
Thanks. We have been to SF a few times, but never going back and forth over the GG late at night, so I am glad you have both reassured me. Thanks a lot.
