Do I need to rent a car for Santa Fe?

Jump to last reply

I am toying with the idea of taking a long weekend in Santa Fe sometime in June. Looking at the general costs and am not sure if I need to factor in a rental car. This trip would be food focused but I would probably want to see a bit of the natural surroundings too--at least one hike. A nature/culture combo. I suspect I need to rent a car and am maybe hoping someone will say, No, of course not!

Also, is the Inn on the Alameda a good place to stay? I don't care for really large, resort-y feeling places, no generic spas. Prefer smaller, good food a plus. But of course a convenient and charming location trumps everything.

Thanks for any opinions, pros and cons, etc.
