Disney world Florida
My persistent wife insists we go here on vacation, April late.
We are 47 and 41.
Is this like Anaheim? Is this an adult venue? Is it hot in late April?
Your random thoughts would be welcomed.

Love Disney as an adult!
Love to go the Epcot. See the educational stuff during the day then go to happy hour at The World Showcase, have dinner at one of the world pavillions (I like Japan, Mexico, and Great Britain) and get a good seat for the fireworks.
Stay onsight so if you get blotto, you can take Disney's transportation back to your room.
Ride wise, I like Universal and Islands of Adventure much better. Definitely stay onsight.

Yes, much more than Anaheim. You'll prob like MGM Studios and EPCOT (which don't exist in CA) better than Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom, especially the safari ride, is also fun for adults. We were just there in November - a group of 4 women all in our 50s - and had a ball. We though Illuminations at EPCOT was the best fireworks show. Don't miss it. And agree with the previous poster - stay onsite. We enjoyed French Quarter.

Go to the World Showcase day or night. Eat at Paris. Drink Margaritas in Mexico. Stay at Dolphin (get balcony) and epcot is a boat ride away. Polynesian is also nice but more kids. Definitely (depending on budget) dine at California Grill in Contemporary Resort overlooking Magic Kingdom. Hang at Downtown Disney at night and go to Wolfgang Pucks. It can be very adult.

April is a great month. I live not far away and took a group of students in late April one year and had fantastic weather.
I think EPCOT is a lot of fun. Try the wine in France and the food in Morocco.
Downtown Disney is fun too and there is a Cirque de Soleil show, La Nouba, there as well.

Thanks for the help so far. Adult venue did not mean a place to booze it up, my wife drinks a little but not me.
I don't know what I meant, I guess entertainment wise and attractions, I would love to see La Nouba!

Well - I'm basically a Disney phobe. (I do think there's a difference between child-like and childish.)
But- if your wife is set on Orlando April isn't a bad time in terms of weather. And you're alredy past Easter and almost all spring breakers so it shouldn;t be so mobbed.
Actually some of EPCOT if fairly interesting for adults - esp the energy and seas exhibits. And some of the countries do a reasonably good job. Other than that can;t reco it for adults. (IMHO Magic Kingdom is for kids, MGM for kids and teens and Animal Kingdom OK in parts - but you have to time it - usually dawn or dusk when you can actually see the animals.)
But you could do Sea World - which can be interesting if you can get into conversation with a curator and get some n-depth info.
If you want to aboid being mobbed by kids in the hotel I reco staying off-Disney. We have stayed at Cyprus Grand Hyatt a couple of times (doing small meetings) and it is a nice resort with a good pool area, golf, boating, biking etc - and not TOO many kids.

Actualy if you don't want to be mobbed by kids and still want to stay on site, look into the Swan and Dolphin. They are more adult oriented. You can walk to Epcot and MGM from there and the boardwak is just a three minute walk.

As long time Annual pass members to WDW, we visit 4 or 5 times a year, and have found that, for us, there is no comparison to staying off property to the convenience to staying on site. It is simply a different vacation altogether. We park our car and do not have to deal with the frustration off finding our way around this enormous place, (it is truly huge and it is not unusual for folks to end up on the interstate circling around looking for their hotels at night) vs the enjoyment of the boats/ferries and great bus system that Disney provides. We've never had to wait more than 10-12 minutes for a Disney bus, and although they try, the hotel buses cannnot offer the same service. Also, remember that time is money at Disney, and you don't want to have to spend valuable time driving, parking and walking/traming it in to the parks.
As to places to stay on site, we love the Beach Club and the Boardwalk which is part of the Epcot resort area, since as adults, we like Epcot best at night, (Magic Kingdom has a couple of must sees, but is definitely oriented for the youngest set)and can simply walk over the bridge at France and be at at hotel in just 5 minutes. Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful and our favorite restaurant by far, Boma, is located there. It's worth a trip to Disney's hotels just to see them and that is truly where the best dining is. Our favorite restaurant in the park without a doubt is at Epcot in Canada, Le Cellier, which used to be a secret, but now has become difficult to get into. Dinner in France was a diappointment but the best view of the fireworks while eating(and only table service restaurant located right on the lake) can be had at the Rose and Crown in England...a great experience. Get there early for the a lakeside table, (7:45 ideal for a 9:00pm fireworks show)but they will let patrons eating there walk out to the patio to watch if you are sitted inside-a real plus and the crowds can be bad at fireworks time. The newest restaurant at Animal Kingdom Park is the Yak N Yetti which is excellent and you will love that park and it's unhurried and less crowed atmosphere. Wilderness Lodge (a Magic Kingdom resort) is beautiful but a bit more remote, and the Grand Floridian would be a really fabulous treat if the extra $ aren't an issue. Their restaurant, Nacoosees, is our other favorite place, just bring your wallet, it is quite expensive (as is the case at the Concourse restaurant at the Contempory, you pay dearly to see Magic Kingdom fireworks while dining here!) Ahhh..I wish I were there now...Have a great trip!
