Disney Land vs. Knotts Berry Farm

We would like to give our two boys ages 7 and 4 tickets to DisneyLand or Knotts Berry Farm for Christmas. We will be in Laguna Beach at the beginning of April for a week. Any thoughts?

Disneyland! I tried to get One Day Tickets to Disneyland only for all of our kids and they only sell the Park Hopper one day passes. If you are going for one day to Disneyland only, you will have to get your tickets at the park. Have fun! ***kim***

I've been to both, and for smaller children Knotts may be better, not so huge and overwhelming. It's more child-oriented.

But they are both good.

Oh, wait! A week? You can certainly do both! Start with Knotts and then Disney.

Disney's the favorite, and if I had to choose one, guess I'd go with Disney, but Knotts has a certain charm, and we've enjoyed spending time there just as much. It's more low key, nice for little kids.

Knotts Berry farm has been the favorite in our family, especially if you have young sons. They will love Camp Snoopy, too. If you have an Entertainment Book, there is a coupon for one free adult admission in the '07 Book.

Oh my goodness...Disneyland...especially if the kids have never been there before!

Disneyland! Walt Disney's vision for Disneyland was a place where the whole family could have fun together on all the rides. Unlike other theme parks (such as Knott's or Six Flags) where the two extremes are either stomach-churning thrill rides or kiddie rides, most of the rides at Disneyland are fun for everyone, even the roller coasters, which are not stomach-churners (for that you'll have to go to Disney's California Adventure).
As a kid who grew up in Orange County, I hate to say this, but we actually found Knott's to be so low-key it was kind of boring. But we never tired of driving our own cars at Disneyland's Autopia! I don't think you'll find a more "chld-oriented" theme park than Disneyland--the smaller kids will love Mickey's Toon Town and the Fantasyland Rides, as well as Tom Sawyer's Island, Tarzan's Tree House, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and of course everyone wants to see "Jack Sparrow" in Pirates of the Caribbean!
Have a wonderful time...at Disneyland!

Just wanted to add a caveat about roller coasters in general. While the Disneyland roller coasters are not the nauseating, white-knucklers of other theme parks, like any fast ride, they may not be for everyone. And as with any fast ride, there are height requirements and health restrictions.

I too would choose Disneyland for the kids but my favorite park in California is Knotts. Especially since they were bought out by Cedar Fair which is the company that owns Cedar Point in Ohio. They have really been making some nice changes to the park and it is way less crowded! Disneyland has been ruined for me since going to Disneyworld anyway =(
