disney all star movie hotel
hi we are going to orlando in may
problem is we have 4 ppl in room already and now my hubby wants to join us for 3 days. we would have to rebook else where and pay penaltys
has anyone ever stayed here? will they even notice that he is staying?
are they watchdogs or what?

Hi. I have stayed in All of the All Stars many times. The problem you have is that the rooms usually feature two double beds. So 4 people in the room at one time. Your husband will have to sleep on the floor. And if you ask for a cot they wil ask you why. 
But here is what you can do to make it relaxing for everyone. Disney will not penalize you for making changes. But if you cancel outright 6 days before you go you will loose your one night deposit. So call up the reservations line (407) W-Disney, tell them that you have an additional person coming and that you need to add a room onto your reservation. Ask for an adjoining room if possible.
Now 3 things can happen when you call.
1) They have an extra room on the nights your staying and they give it to you no problem. You just might have to pay an extra night deposit.
2) They do not have a room at the hotel your staying at but offer you another room in a different hotel. Remember there are 4 budget hotels owned by Disney (All Star Music, Movies, Sports and Pop Century). If you take the room at a different hotel they will simply move your deposit money to that hotel, you will still need two room so an extra deposit will be needed.
3) They do not have an extra room for you. So if this is the case you can ask for a refund on your deposit and if your trip is not within 6 days you will get the deposit back. But this will not happen. Disney has 18 hotels that they own and another 5 on site that are owned by outside companies (The Dolphin, Swan). So there is plenty of room to be had (unless this trip is during Christmas time).
Now you might want to consider the larger rooms at Disney. Fort Wilderness campgrounds have cabins that sleep 5 and have full kitchens. Old Key West Resort and Saratoga Springs resorts are more apartments than hotels with efficiancies, 1 and 2 room apartments.
Seriously, you do not want to share an All Star Room with 5 people. My Wife, my 7 year old Daughter and myself can barely work out the bathroom schedule in one of these rooms and we are only three.

No one will notice. However, no cots or roll-away beds are available through the hotel.
All-Star Music has family suites that sleep six but they are as expensive (or even more so) than 2 standard rooms at the All Stars.
We have a daughter & a son who refuse to share a bed so we've squeezed a blow-up cot from Wal-mart between the two beds at All Star Movies but it was a tight fit.

Port Orleans Riverside is a moderate hotel w/ some rooms that sleep 5 but that is with a trundle bed which is a good fit for a young child but too small for adults.

you don't say how old the people already in the room are. Disney allows 5 in an All-Star IF one of the people is under 3 years old. The resorts are huge and no one will probably notice, but they are pretty tight for 5 adults.
The previous poster is right, you may not have to pay penalties if you move, although you would have to pay more for a room that fits 5.

Actually, they will notice if you are doing any type of package, the dining plan or buying tickets. The number of people must match the number in the room. When providing your park hoppers or whatever, they will ask the names and ages of each person.

Def consider moving to a resort that can handle 5 people - you will be miserable being crammed into ASM with that many people even if you do it illegally.
Is May off-peak ? Rates at other resorts might not be too expensive -
