We are visiting St. Louis University one day, and then driving over to the Washington University campus for a visit the next day. I am looking for a restaurant and maybe some shopping near one of the campus' for teenage daughter to enjoy. Should we stick around St. Louis U, or is there more to choose from around Washington? Is the Central West End around either of these areas? Could use some suggestions! Thank you!

Quick reply...check out Italian eateries on The Hill. Also river front. But of course Clayton and Forest Park area must have good places...haven't been there for awhile.
Bill in Boston
The Central West End is between the two U.'s, and a good bet for lunch and shopping. Herbie's is nice, on Euclid, or Duff's. Lots of people like Pi for pizza, Dressel's or Llwelyn's for pubs. St. Louis Bread Co for casual soups/salads/coffee, quick in and out.
Otherwise, I'd go to the Loop area north of Wash U. I walked by Bobo Noodles today on Skinker near Forest Park Pkway, stylish Asian fusion students seem to like. There are fun lunch spots for two blocks east and several blocks west of Skinker on Delmar. Eclipse at the Moonrise Hotel is nice. Three Kings pub. Thai places.
Don't know if you've gone yet, but I vote for the U City loop. Blueberry Hill -- too cool! Lots of fun and maybe some live music.
